Privacy Policy
Effective October 6, 2026
The short version
- We collect only what we need: your email (and optionally your program and school) if you join the early-access list, and the slides you upload if you're testing AptIQ.
- We don't store your uploaded lecture files. Slide text is sent to our AI provider to write your quiz, and your quiz results stay in your browser.
- We never sell your information, and we don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
- You can ask us to see or delete your information at any time.
Who we are
AptIQ is operated by Phantom Organization LLC ("AptIQ," "we," "us"). This policy covers the AptIQ early-access website and the AptIQ test app (together, the "Services"). If you have questions, contact us at learn.aptiq@gmail.com.
Information we collect
When you join the early-access list
- Your email address (required).
- Your program or field of study and your school, only if you choose to provide them.
- The date and time you signed up.
When you use the test app
- Your access code, which we use to confirm you're an invited tester and to see how often each code is used.
- Your lecture slides. When you upload a PDF, your browser reads the text from your slides. That text is sent to our server and to our AI provider to write your quiz questions. The PDF file itself is not uploaded to or stored on our servers.
- Your quiz answers and scores stay in your browser. We don't collect or store them.
Information collected automatically
- Basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages or features you request. Our hosting provider records this in standard server logs that help us keep the Services running and secure.
- Information stored in your browser. We save a small amount of information on your own device (for example, that you've already joined the list, or the access code you entered) so you don't have to re-enter it. This stays on your device and you can clear it in your browser settings.
We don't use advertising cookies, analytics trackers or tracking pixels.
How we use your information
- To email you about AptIQ's launch, early access and founding-member offers.
- To generate quizzes and retests from the slides you upload.
- To limit the test app to invited testers and understand how it's being used.
- To understand which fields of study and schools are interested in AptIQ, so we can improve it.
- To keep the Services secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To comply with the law.
Who we share it with
We don't sell or rent your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We share it only with service providers that help us run AptIQ, and only as needed for them to do that:
- Vercel, which hosts our websites and servers.
- Upstash, which stores the early-access list.
- Anthropic, our AI provider, which receives the text of your uploaded slides to write quiz questions. Anthropic processes this data under its commercial terms; see Anthropic's privacy policy for how it handles and retains API data.
- An email service provider, which we'll use to send launch and early-access emails.
- Google Fonts and Cloudflare (cdnjs), which deliver fonts and code libraries to your browser and may receive your IP address when they do.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users' safety, or as part of a sale or reorganization of our business, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.
Your uploaded lecture materials
Please upload only materials you're allowed to use for your own studying. We use the text of your slides only to create your quizzes. We don't publish or share your slides with other users, and we don't keep copies of your files.
How long we keep it
- Early-access list: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, or until we no longer need it for launch communications.
- Test app access codes and usage logs: for the duration of the test, then deleted or allowed to expire under our hosting provider's standard log retention.
- Slide text: we don't store it after your quiz is written. Our AI provider may retain it for a limited time under its own policies.
Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in any email, or by contacting us.
- Access, correct or delete your information by emailing learn.aptiq@gmail.com. We'll respond within 30 days.
- If you live in California or another place with privacy laws that give you additional rights, you can exercise those rights the same way. We'll never treat you differently for doing so.
Security
We use reputable service providers and reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No online service can guarantee perfect security, so please don't upload materials containing sensitive personal information.
Children
AptIQ is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Where your information is processed
We're based in the United States, and our service providers may process your information in the United States or other countries.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as AptIQ grows. When we do, we'll change the effective date above, and if the changes are significant, we'll let you know by email or on our website.
